The bamboo from which these rods are built came from the ashes of a devastating fire in 2017 that destroyed a bamboo rod building facility in Twin Bridges, Montana. After the fire, the few bamboo culms which made up these rods were discarded. These culms were later 'rescued'. In 2024 a prototype rod was built to check the integrity of the cane. Having found that the prototype not only was a sweetheart to
