The citadel was considered to be the greatest of Russian Christianity before it was turned into a Soviet labor camp and prison in the late 1920s. The monastery is surrounded by seven gates and eight towers, and walls ranging from eight to eleven meters. CONDITION This 97+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++. Light aging throughout.
